The VACON NXP water-cooled frequency inverter delivers high-precision drive control for induction motors and permanent-magnet motors, operating efficiently across a power range of 7.5 to 5,300 kW under 380–690 VAC power supply conditions. Its ultra-compact design and exceptional power density make it particularly well-suited for applications where air-cooled inverters are difficult to install, installation costs are high, or space constraints are extremely tight—while still maintaining outstanding performance even in some of the harshest environmental conditions. This product can utilize a variety of cooling fluids, including pure drinking water. Since it doesn’t rely on clean air for heat dissipation, it can be widely deployed in demanding industrial environments such as metallurgy, mining, paper production, shipbuilding, and offshore engineering—fields characterized by challenging and extreme operating conditions.
High power density gives the VACON NXP water-cooled inverters an exceptional power-to-size ratio. For instance, a 12-pulse VACON NXP water-cooled inverter rated at 1.5 MW—equipped with a built-in filter, an inverter module, and a braking unit (optional)—requires an installation cabinet width of just 800 mm. As a result, compared to air-cooled inverters, the VACON NXP water-cooled models offer greater flexibility in choosing their installation location. Moreover, since these inverters eliminate the need for bulky cooling fans, they significantly reduce the load on the electrical room’s air-conditioning system. This, in turn, effectively minimizes both the equipment footprint and overall operating costs, while also ensuring remarkably quiet operation.
